I was at a party once
Where a girl tried to kill herself
She was only twenty
And slit her wrists correctly.
As I remember it now,
You were there as well —
Avoiding me as I avoided you.
It wasn’t that I was angry,
It was more like I was afraid
To face you, knowing the pain
Of my breaking your heart
We were so in love!
And I still cared at the party
But I travelled in my own private orbit
Lost to self-examination
In the mirror of the blood on the walls
